I Fight for Immortality

"'I see the sunrise now,' he said.
'Because of you, the days have color. Eternity has meaning once more.
You found every broken piece of me and put me back together, even though I hurt you too many times for me to deserve it.
You are the glue that holds me together.
If I lose you, it will be the end of me.
The end of everything good in this world.'"

Goodreads Description

Love or life.
Henry or their child.
The end of her family or the end of the world.
Kate must choose.

During nine months of captivity, Kate Winters has survived a jealous goddess, a vengeful Titan and a pregnancy she never asked for. Now the Queen of the Gods wants her unborn child, and Kate can't stop her--until Cronus offers a deal.

In exchange for her loyalty and devotion, the King of the Titans will spare humanity and let Kate keep her child. Yet even if Kate agrees, he'll destroy Henry, her mother and the rest of the council. And if she refuses, Cronus will tear the world apart until every last god and mortal is dead.

With the fate of everyone she loves resting on her shoulders, Kate must do the impossible: find a way to defeat the most powerful being in existence, even if it costs her everything.

Even if it costs her eternity.

My Thoughts

Holy Hades, this book was good. SO many feels. I had to stop periodically and take deep breaths because it was just so emotional. Ok, so the plot continues to twist, you have no idea who to believe or trust, and everyone is on edge. SPOILERS FROM PREVIOUS BOOKS…YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

SO. Kate is trapped with Caliope (that bitch) and Cronus awaiting to give birth. I will try not to give away too many plot spoilers after that so I’ll just talk about what I liked about the story. While it broke my heart repeatedly the threat of war and battle is a constant in this installment. Aimee Carter does such a fantastic job of relaying the utter despair that goes along with war. I can’t describe how she makes you feel this way, she just does. I was feeling right along with all the gods and goddesses how dire and hopeless the situation seemed. I just felt so sad reading it because it really put in perspective how terrifying the situation was. The constant threat of losing your loved ones and family made my heart ache. The writing was just really well done in this respect.

Henry and Kate. Adore. They finally got their shit together and Henry got his head out of his ass and realized how freakin’ awesome Kate is. Persephone sucked big time and after reading Legacy their relationship had NOTHING to be fond of. They didn’t even have a relationship—anyways. Kate and Henry (and another addition) were just amazing. The way their relationship grew and progressed was so lovely to read about and in this book when they finally get to have moments together *sigh* I just loved.

I also love that Kate doesn’t take shit. She stands up to Walter constantly. She fights for what she believes in. She doesn’t let other people make her decisions for her. While some are not the best choices she owns what she does. I LOVE that she will protect her family at all costs and calls everyone else out on their lack of sensitivity for their children and other loved ones. She shows love with everything she does and her strength make her a fantastic character.

I was a nervous wreck the entire time reading this book! I was so scared as to what was going to happen and who would survive that I had chest pain. I thought that the ending was really, really well done. While there was a lot of sadness and I was crying at multiple points, I was very happy with how the series ended. Love love love. And I’m gonna miss these characters…especially Kate and Henry. Can we get more books?!

Should You Read This? Definitely. The Greek Mythology continues to be amazing and I just loved how the story was written and everything that happened. Definitely a great series!
